God calls us, our plans matter

Updated: Sep 15, 2019

Hello!

I'm going to start off this blog with a bible verse -

Fitting, isn't it? For this type of blog, anyway, and with that in mind we have some excellent news! Flights are booked and accommodation is apparently reserved. Although there was a stumble regarding a small flight booking niggle (which prayer for a smooth re-adjustment would be ideal) however it's safe to say things are definitely being done to piece together our journey. We don't feel out of our depth just yet! God calls us to live for him, and if we feel Him tell us where we need to go and we adhere to that, He paves the way for us. Trouble and uncertainty can befall any of us during the road because we are only human, but God is good. Jesus told us to go and live in His name, with the Holy Spirit to keep us burning with passion for Him, therefore I believe this scripture from Proverbs 16:3 is perfect for W.A.I.T and perfect for those who have their own journeys, big or small, long-distance or short distance, we are all in this together!

So, with the flights booked and the accommodation reserved, what is next? Well, we are very soon going to have a list from Suzanne that states all the supplies they need for Tek Ura, GDQ or need in general that they cannot get from Albania. This list will hopefully arrive before our next team meeting this Thursday (29th!) and it will be two team member's jobs to get the supplies. If you have been in church today or last week, you will know that for Harvest this year you have been asked to raise funds for the supplies that Mat and Suzanne need. That kind of makes you part of the team! You may not go with us, but the money you provide will be spent on something needed and will be flying off with us! The children have little smartie tubs to raise some cash and I hope they feel a part of the team too.

At our next team meeting that I mentioned earlier, we are expecting a team member to bring the Albanian flag and we'll ensure we get a team photo so you can finally all see us! I am hoping to do a short paragraph for each member on the "about the team" page once we have all done this, so if you're nosey like me you can have a little read about our journey and why we have taken up the opportunity to go to Tirana, Albania, and see what our God is doing over that. If there is anything you would like to see on the blog, leave a comment or email and I'll do my best to get information out there that you'd like to know (or things to see!)

As a final note, it may have been said in jest but Nick said to me "shall we get a mascot?" ages ago and it's been playing on my mind. I think a mascot, like a teddy or some cute little figurine, would be a really fantastic thing to bring with us and we could blog the mascot's journey. Perhaps this would be a child-friendly way to show the kids in church how exciting Mission work is? It may sound rubbish, I don't know! But I will be bringing it up in the next team meeting, so feel free to comment on that too!

As always, your prayers, support and encouragement mean the absolute world to us. Please keep the flight booking issue in mind and please pray for our upcoming meeting, and that it would be fruitful and our Albanian will get a bit better!!

God Bless,

Team W.A.I.T
